The Fitting Room: Putting on the Character of Christ
Just wanted to let you know that I just got my copy of The Fitting Room: Putting on the Character of Christ. It’s available for pre-order today, and will ship April 1st. These projects require so much labor-intensive work and a huge chunk of your heart, so I’m always really excited when I can hold a final copy in my hands; The kind of copy where you can’t ask the editor if he or she can just change one more thing?
I based this book on Colossians 3:12 where Paul talks about clothing ourselves with the virtues. Of course this is easier said than done; Taking off one outfit for another is way easier than, say, taking off anger for patience, or bitterness for forgiveness. But there are many helpful truths along the way that aid us in the process, not the least of which is that we are chosen, set apart and dearly loved by God. So… I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed studying the classic Christian virtues, and writing about them in the most honest and at times humorous ways I knew how.

I really loved your study on "Ruth" did it last summer online with the Womens Bible Study Cafe~………cool site please hop over sometime and check it out. We are getting ready to do NOG'S at the end of April, I cannot wait to do that one. Will get this one soon. You write a GREAT STUDY and SING LIKE AN ANGEL. Thanks and blessing to you always.
Can't wait to get this! Enjoying your Ruth study so very much — with a group of women filled with grandmas, newly weds, singles, and all points in between — it's rich — thank you and Praise God!
Is this part of the living room series? I lead a group of young married women and would love to do this for a summer study … we LOVE the recipes too :)
Just finished NOG's This past Thursday and another group of ladies just finished RUTH the week before. Looking for our next study and this might be it! Colossians 3:12 is very much a transforming life verse and we need to learn how to put it on. Thanks for being faithful to feeding His sheep! You have certainly been chosen and set apart.
Thanks to you and blessings as you serve Him

Hi Tonia, It's not part of the Living Room Series. I'm working on that study right now though, so stay tuned. However, The Fitting Room is a book on the virtues that includes discussion questions for group time, but it isn't a bible study per se. Hope this helps!
Hi Kelly-
I enjoyed going through the Ruth study with some friends last summer – and we loved trying out the recipes as a celebration when we completed the study.
I thought you might be interested in seeing a little "clothesline" of these virtues I made for our Sunday School class :) Here's the link: http://whispersinthesilence.blogspot.com/2011/03/…
I'm diving into The Fitting Room on Monday, April 18th. My mom and I are cofacilitating a group online at http://biblestudywithpatti.blogspot.com/. We are so excited to get started and although it isn't a Bible Study per se, we are going to be reading and discussing it throughout the next 5 weeks.
Hi Kelly,
Wanted you to know that I was so blessed by the summer study of Ruth last year….so much that I went right out and bought No Other Gods…fully intending to jump right into it. But as my husband loves to say "life happens" and that study went untouched until today. I have been in a mixed season of joy and ….. everything else!!! I have a child still in college, two just recently married and having children of their own, aging parents who live 20 minutes from me and needing plenty of attention, a husband thinking of retirement…..no need to go any further, you get the idea.
This morning I prayed for a fresh word from God. I have felt separated from Him through all of my own distractions. I prayed for a study, something that will pull me back, set my heart afire again! I opened a desk drawer and there it was…."No Other Gods"! I've taken almost an hour just to soak in the Introduction! I am blessed again….back into His word with a full heart although a little nervous about the truths that may be revealed to me.
A belated thank you for your work on what must surely be a TIMELESS study!

Hi Kelly,
I just finished reading The Fitting Room and was greatly encouraged by it. So much so that I have invited a group of ladies from my church to get together with me over the next few weeks and read it together, using the discussion questions in the back.
I was particularly struck by the chapter on Compassion, and the importance of listening to people first rather than stomping all over them in our efforts to be helpful. It makes me feel relieved to think that we don't necessarily have to have the 'right answer' up front, but that we can simply extend grace and friendship to people in need, and pray that the Lord will cause them to grow in faithfulness and love for him.
God bless you.

Looking forward to reading this… just picked up the Ruth study and the Love, Loss and Legacy CD. I have been deeply blessed and moved by both. Thanks!
Kelly I am so glad you did another study. Our small group is just finishing Ruth and we did NOGs a couple of months before that. You communicate powerful truths beautifully. I am so glad I can tell the ladies (when we meet on Wednesday) that you have another study!
Hi Kim, The Fitting Room is actually not part of The Living Room studies (like Ruth and No Other Gods) but is a book on the Christian virtues. It does have some discussion questions that can be done in a group, but just wanted to let you know it\’s not a bible study per se. My next study on the book of Nehemiah will be out Feb, 2012 Lord willing!
Putting on Spiritual Clothes was on Crosswalk.com on the 10th and I stumbled across it at the right time in my life. It was sharp and stepped on my toes but it was right. I just skimmed through it on yesterday and this morning, I was lead to read it throughly. It helped me so much. I never heard of you, but this book, I am going to get, really is needed today. There are so many people or Should I say Christian out there that need to take those ugly clothes off and put on the the Spiritual clothes as your book talks about.
Again, thanks so much for being such a blessing in my life right now. Words can't really describe what this has done for me.
May God truly, truly bless you as you continue to allow Him to use you to be a blessing to women and men(if they choose to).
Hi, Kelly,
Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your new book. I loved the other two as well, but this one has got to be my favorite! I am about half way through and I cannot adequately express in words how much this is ministering to me. The Lord is all over it in every possibly way. Thank you so much for your honesty in dealing with some of the tough questions/concerns and even doubts some of us have. It is like balm to the soul to hear that others share(d) some of my own insecurities about our true position in our Lord Jesus Christ. You so perfectly and beautifully broke down where some of the things we need to put off come from. Glory!!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the hard work you put into it. Sister, it is blessing my socks off. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He would continue to empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. That Christ may dwell in your heart as you trust in Him. And that your roots would go down into God's love and keep you strong.
Blessings,
Gretchen
Just bought this yesterday, I am excited to dig in. Thanks for writing books that speak to women of all ages. You are awesome.
What is the theme of the next installment of your Living Room Series, Kelly? I sent you a pic of our group during Ruth. We have loved the NOGs and the Ruth study and CAN'T wait for the next one in the Living Room Series!!
I'm reading the Fitting Room and No Other Gods, right now. I love both books, they inspire me and challenge me all at the same time. I live in Northern Virginia. Kelly do you speak at women's events? I would love for you to come and speak with the women at my church. Of course, I don't make those type of decisions. But, I would pass your name on.
My church is in Chantilly, VA.
Peace and Blessings,
Mona
The next study is on the book of Nehemiah. It's called, "Nehemiah: A Heart That Can Break" and will be out Feb 1, 2012, Lord willing! Thanks so much for your sweet encouragement!
Kelly, I received the Fitting Room today and already it has me captured! I can't wait to dive in and give it my undivided attention! I love your casual, friendly, and down-to-earth writing style. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself alongside the Truth of God's Word!
Blessings,
Cathy

Thanks for sharing your ideas. I’d personally also like to express that video games have been ever before evolving. Modern technology and improvements have aided create authentic and interactive games. These kinds of entertainment games were not actually sensible when the real concept was first of all being used. Just like other kinds of technologies, video games as well have had to progress by means of many decades. This is testimony towards the fast growth and development of video games.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
