Shipping Update on Beth Moore Summer Study

by | Jun 27, 2010 | 13 comments

Hey Everyone,

I’m sorry that I have been quite out of touch since being out of the country in Brazil, specifically on a boat cruising down the Amazon. And when I say ‘cruising’, please don’t think anything even close to a cruise ship, because the only thing the two have in common is their ability to float. Much more on what God did on our trip in posts to come…

Many of you are wondering if you can get your Ruth Study(s) from this website and how quickly they will arrive, especially in regard to Beth Moore’s summer study. Yes, you can order them here, (or get them at your local LifeWay Store). Please know that we are expediting our shipments to you so you can get your Ruth study(s) as soon as possible. If you have any questions or issues, please contact us at [email protected], and we’ll get back to you right away. If you need more info on Beth’s Summer Study you can visit her blog by clicking here.

Can’t wait to share with you about my trip to the Amazon. God is so desirous to use His people to take the Gospel (and everything the Gospel means and does) to the ends of the earth. To be entrusted with the treasure of the Gospel is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. This I know.

I will be hosting the No Other Gods bible study in my livingroom starting this Tuesday. Myself and three of my closest friends. We really had no idea why this study came our way. We each started it, then our Sunday School and Sermon text was the same as in this week's study. God is such an awesome orchestrator. Pray that God will be God in each of our lives so much so that it spreads. May it spread like a wildfire! We will keep you posted.
    Love & Prayers,
    Lisa

Kelly? On page 166 of Ruth you refer to fun videos of you and the girls studying Ruth. We are doing the online Summer Siesta, but we're meeting every week. It would be fun to show some of those videos in the "off" weeks, but I can't find them. Can you help?

    Hi Kelly,

I am just now starting to join in on Beth Moore's blog study on your Ruth Bible study. I am doing it "solo" here in southern Wisconsin with the other "Siestas". I read the first few pages of it today. I am excited to get into the "meat" of the study. Thank you for allowing Miss Beth to use your study in this way. 🙂

I am starting approximately 3 weeks after the others, as I just finished Beth's Esther Bible study yesterday, and I did not wish to rush through it. It seems like our Lord Jesus teaches me through each Bible study that I have done over the past 8 years. The Holy Spirit coaxed me into His sweet salvation in mid-April, 2003; so I am still just a "youngster in Christ Jesus"; and even though it has not been an easy road for me, I wouldn't have it any other way.

    In Christ's Love, Jennifer

    Hello Kelly,
Could you answer a question for our group that is completing the Ruth study through LPM blog? We are a group of 4(my sister-in-law, her 17 year old twin daughters, and myself). When we met two weeks ago, my neice wondered why did Orpah and Ruth go with Naomi? Why had they not returned to their families when their husbands died? (I think this comes from pg 17 discussion question.) I know other studies say the women of Biblical time were considered property purchased through marriage.
Could you tell us if this is the reason or something more?
Thank you (also to the "nogs") for sharing your insights and thought/action provoking questions to encourage us to see Him and follow. We are being blessed.

Hi There! Thank you for this question and forgive my delayed reply. I have been finishing up a book and have gotten so behind! I'm not sure I have a great answer to your question, other than there must have been something that deeply connected them to Naomi. Think about the many years they were married to her sons, the discussions they surely had about living in Bethlehem, their God and their traditions. This would have had a great affect on Orpah and Ruth – I even think of how incredibly close my brother in-law is to my family after seven years of marriage to my sister. I think he would say we are really his family now. So, even though it might have been perfectly normal for them to have returned to their own families, I think it is also very plausible that they would want to stick with Naomi and make a new life in the land that had been their husbands' home. These are just my thoughts… I sure hope they help!

Thanks for replying. My niece said that was what she was thinking. Again thank you for this study. I have gained a new perspective on Naomi and Ruth, but most of all the matter of my heart after God. Thank you. Numbers 6:24-26

    Dear Kelly,
I am doing the Ruth study and wanted you to know how much the part about Boaz being Ruth's Source…and God being our SOURCE so impacted my life. I have a dear friend who is going through some tough stuff right now and I've been feeling so inadequate as a friend. That was just a God timed message for me…so thank you for being the "source" for that!

    Dear Kelly:
I have just completed my book, study of Ruth. Can't say I have finished it……how do I "finish" something so wonderful. I have completed the blanks, considered the "Personal Responses" and underlined in red (sometimes double underlined). May I never finish it, but keep coming back to it time and time again, seeing each time the wonderful thread woven in its rich theme. I was mostly "solo" in this study, but maybe that's ok too as I was kicking my feet, jumping for joy and then breaking down in tears at the whole redemption and time and time again He tries to "lay it out" before us in His word. Truly the anointing of God was on you to write such a study like this. I will probably wear out the CD as it ministers to me each time I hear it.
I have already ordered "No Other Gods".
I see now the idea of "weeping forward". This has been a year of such renewal for me spiritually and I weep at the thought of time I have wasted and now feel like the Lord is "redeeming" my time. Thank you!
